Kamillah Scales, NCC, Professional Counselor Associate
Kamillah enjoys providing therapy to individuals and families, working with adolescents through adulthood.
Kamillah’s goal as a therapist is to help people reach their goals and create pathways for positive change. As a teenager, Kamillah always knew she wanted to help people. For as long as she could remember, she was a member of different groups/organizations that focused on giving back. She fell in love with supporting people and helping individuals find their way to reach their goals. Kamillah is from a small town in Mississippi with limited resources, and this background has helped her learn how to pivot and use many different avenues to meet peoples needs.
Kamillah holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health from Mississippi State University, a national CACREP accredited institution. Kamillah is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Registered Associate Counselor working towards licensure (LPC).
Kamillah uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals understand the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help individuals see the world in multiple lenses; Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help individuals process how their view of self/the world has been affected due to trauma; and Gestalt Therapy to help individuals focus on the “here and now” and their ability to create change in their current circumstances.
Kamillah is passionate about Minority Mental Health and works with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, mood/personality concerns, trauma, eating concerns, and relationship/communication issues.
In her free time, Kamillah enjoys reading, spending time with friends/family, watching movies, and walking her dog.
